Blackley Crematorium and Cemetery sits among gently rolling hills, providing a beautiful and tranquil setting in which to reflect and remember loved ones.
With outstanding views across the Pennines Blackley Crematorium is the only crematorium owned and operated by Manchester City Council.
Built in 1965 the Crematorium opened enjoys a beautiful memorial garden surrounded by a stunning herbaceous border. A tree-lined avenue leads to the Crematorium in which the newly refurbished Centre Chapel has a magnificent stained glass window and can accommodate 300 people. There are two smaller side chapels, which can each seat up to 60 people. All the chapels offer a peaceful, intimate setting for a full service or committal before cremation, or alternatively a service for burial before going to graveside.
Music can be an important part of a service, and can provide a fitting background; a library of music is available, however, families may prefer to provide their own. Each chapel has a sound system and a loop induction system.
Webcasting Services
We work with select providers to offer webcasting and recording services so that families can capture funeral services for those who cannot physically attend. Services are captured by a discreetly located camera at the back of the chapel, allowing friends and families to be a part of the service without ever leaving their home. The funeral service can be watched live on any digital device.
Our Memorials
Our range of cremation memorials are designed and produced to the highest standards that epitomise the very best of traditional and contemporary cremation memorials available.
Memories are personal to you and your memorial should reflect this. Memorials help people to remember and celebrate a persons life and therefore we advise that you visit the crematorium to speak with our staff before making a final decision.M9 8jP
