Books of Remembrance
The Books of Remembrance are located in the foyer of our Chapel, which is open 365 days of the year. The Books display the page for the current date, but viewing of a particular date is always possible on weekdays, by request.
The volumes are designed by craftsmen to last indefinitely as each entry is made in perpetuity. Inscriptions and motifs are hand-written and illuminated in the tradition of medieval manuscripts.
Entries may be made under the anniversary of any special date and do not necessarily have to be on the date the deceased passed away.
The Memorial Gardens
At Banbury Crematorium our aim is to provide a tranquil and comforting atmosphere with professional staff dedicated to providing every type of assistance you may need. We welcome the opportunity to answer any questions you may have, so that you have all the information you require in order to make decisions at what can be a difficult time. We will do our utmost to help you choose the most appropriate memorial for your loved one.
Memorials have provided focal points for remembrance and for the celebration of peoples lives for thousands of years. They also provide a lasting testament to the achievements, interests and personalities of those who have passed away. The memorial options we offer range from traditional rose trees to well-designed stone memorials created by local craftsmen.
It can be a great comfort to the bereaved to be able to visit a fitting memorial and to spend quiet time there in contemplation and reflection. The mature, award-winning Gardens of Remembrance here at Banbury Crematorium offer peace and tranquillity to both the bereaved and to the many visitors who come throughout the year to experience the beauty and serenity of our wonderful setting in the north Oxfordshire countryside.
Webcasting Services
We work with select providers to offer webcasting and recording services so that families can capture funeral services for those who cannot physically attend. Services are captured by a discreetly located camera at the back of the chapel, allowing friends and families to be a part of the service without ever leaving their home. The funeral service can be watched live on any digital device.
Our Memorials
Our range of cremation memorials are designed and produced to the highest standards that epitomise the very best of traditional and contemporary cremation memorials available.
Memories are personal to you and your memorial should reflect this. Memorials help people to remember and celebrate a persons life and therefore we advise that you visit the crematorium to speak with our staff before making a final decision.
