Born on Sunday 4/7/43, the third child of 5, to Mable and George (deceased). Three much loved sisters (Joyce, Ada, Annie), deceased in later life. He grew up in Stepney, east London, living in Blount Street. Building demolished as part of slum clearance initiative that saw the family relocate out of Tower Hamlets. Married, and divorced, a total of three times. First marriage saw a return to the borough, and a home in Watney. Employed within a range of manual jobs before joining the local council as a bricklayer, he achieved a rise to housing manager post, before taking early retirement. Known for a keen mind and eye for both racing and sporting events, considered something of a raconteur who enjoyed adding an element of fun ‘twists’ to table games or cards. Had an excellent knowledge of tv/film/music artistes/entertainers of the 1950s/60s/70s, and enjoyed crime related novels and programmes, Always aimed to be the ‘life and soul’ and to make people laugh. A loving, loyal, trustworthy Dad, Grandad, Great Grandad, who died on Sunday 24/12/23, is irreplaceably missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
